At Spring Valley Church, these core beliefs unify our local church body.
THE BIBLE
We believe the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Scriptures. They are the inspired and infallibly written Word of God, fully inerrant in their original manuscripts. We believe that they contain all things necessary for salvation and are the ultimate authority for Christian conduct and morality.

THE TRINITY
We believe in one God. God is the Creator of all things, and is holy, loving, eternal, and unlimited in power and wisdom. God exists in three persons who share these immutable characteristics - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

THE CHURCH
The church consists of all Christians across the world who make up the Body of Christ. As the Body of Christ, the church is responsible for spreading the Good News about Christ and teaching them to obey Him. Jesus has given the church the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).

SALVATION
We believe salvation from hell is received only by living faith in Jesus Christ, and that living faith produces repentance from sin, the fruit of the Spirit, and obedience to the Scriptures.

SIN
We believe that through the disobedience of Adam and Even (Genesis 3) sin entered the world and all creation suffers its consequences. Sin includes willful disobedience to God, involuntary disobedience to God, and the fallen human nature. Because of sin, all humanity deserves death, and forgiveness can be received by faith through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the only remedy.

THE SACRAMENTS (BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER)
We believe in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Neither baptism nor the Lord’s Supper are required for salvation. However, participation in the sacramaents is an act of obedience that genuine Christians desire to fulfill.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe in all the gifts of the Spirit described in 1 Corinthaisn 12-14 and Ephesians 4:11-16. We teach and practice proper use of the gifts according to 1 Corinthians 12-14.
